8:30-9:15pm Beginning Pointe (must also take 7pm class)
Sundays
2-3pm Ballet/Tap combo ages 3-5
3-4:30pm Teen/Adult Beginning Ballet ages 13+
4:30-5:15 Beginning Pointe (must also take 3pm class)
Rates:
$120 - $170 for 10 weeks
Rates above reflect one class per week

Amy Byington has trained in dance (ballet, jazz, modern, character and tap) in Houston (at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts), in New York City (at the Joffrey Ballet School and Broadway Dance Center) and in Monterey (at SpectorDance). For over a decade, she was the Director of the SpectorDance School and Youth Company and this past year she taught at the Pacific Arts Complex in Monterey. Amy currently serves on the SpectorDance Board of Directors, believing in their mission of "Creating & Presenting Dance That Makes A Difference!" Amy is passionate about teaching dance and choreographing for all ages and levels. She is excited to start this dance endeavor at the YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula.

It has been a wonderful opportunity for my daughter to take lessons from a truly professional teacher who is incredibly good at tailoring her classes to her students, making everyone feel welcome and helping them to feel that they are accomplishing something and improving. Amy's classes have improved my daughter's self esteem as well as her dance technique! To have a dance teacher with Amy's background providing classes at the YMCA is really remarkable. We joined the YMCA specifically for Amy's classes. My daughter has taken ballet all over the peninsula, but she prefers Amy's classes over every other studio where she has taken.
