When You Were Gone A new work by Fran Spector Atkins Saturday, August 17 Fran Spector Atkins seeks a special group of creative dancers ages 8 and up to be a part of the development of a new performance project, When You Were Gone, a collaboration with the Porter Youth Center for military families. Based on filmed interviews with children from the Porter Youth Center, When You Were Gone will explore the experience of deployment from the perspective of children who have a parent who has been deployed. This project will celebrate the power of the arts in telling the stories of those who serve our country.
Auditions will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 1:30-2:30 pm. Intermediate and advance dancers interested in auditioning must attend intermediate/advanced ballet class from 11-12:30 ($25) followed by the audition from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker Saturday, September 21 SpectorDance is thrilled to invite dancers from the region, ages 6 to 18, to audition to perform beside the pros in Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. A FREE public audition for children’s roles will take place at SpectorDance on Saturday, September 21. Performances will take place on Saturday, November 9 at the Golden State Theatre in Monterey.

Casting will happen at audition, cast fee $65. One time rehearsal fee of $30. If cast, dancers must be available to learn choreography September 21-23 with a Moscow Ballet company member! Then Dancers will meet Fridays evenings or Saturday afternoon for rehearsal until performance.
