BALLET with Erica Jeffrey BALLET with Robert Dekkers CONTEMPORARY with Andre Cagnetti and Valentina Buffone Ballet with Erica Jeffrey Erica Jeffrey will teach daily ballet classes and create a new work for local dancers to be performed at the Emerging Choreographers Showcase Originally from Montana, Erica Rose Jeffrey studied dance at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, before joining Ballet Internationale. After dancing professionally she attended Indiana University on full scholarships and graduated with degrees in Ballet and Mediation & Conflict Resolution. She is currently teaching, choreographing and performing in the Bay area and is the resident choreographer for Counterpointe. She has performed with groups such as the Marin Theatre Company, American Musical Theatre of San Jose, and Robert Moses “Drafts.” She has choreographed new works for: the Retail Dance Festival, Women on the Way Festival, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, Collaborate! Dance and Music, Counterpointe’s annual “Works in Motion” at the ODC Theatre, the Sausalito Art Festival, the Monterey Choreographer’s Festival, San Jose Danceworks, the Marin Choreographers’ Collective, Marin Dance Theatre, Belvedere Recreation Center, and Roco Dance and Fitness. Erica also teaches for the San Francisco Ballet Dance in Schools and Communities program in the public schools. Most recently she has been a guest teacher for the Stern Grove Kids Day Program and has toured to China as part of a cultural exchange for the Olympics. Ballet with Robert Dekkers Robert Dekkers Robert graduated from GBT in 2002 and went directly into the ranks of Arizona Ballet. There he has performed works by choreographers such as George Balanchine, Ib Anderson, Marius Petipa, Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Julia Adam and August Bournonville. In 2008, he added performing as a part of ODC Dance Company in San Francisco where he has performed works by directors/choreographers KT Nelson and Brenda Way Robert has also enjoyed much success with his choreography. In 2008 Robert was invited to bring Ballet Arizona dancers to perform "Toccare" in NYC at Ballet Builders Choreographic Showcase, which the NY Times declared was "intelligent and packed with technical challenges for the skillful performers." Also in 2008, Robert created "AnOther" for NovaBallet, which the Arizona Republic called "the artistic highlight of the program... it was dance of a high order, and we want more." Several other of his works, created from 2002-2008, have been performed at various Regional Dance America Festivals, many on the gala evenings, include "Toccare," "Finlandia," "Believe," and "Four Dimensional."
